Charlie lives in the Chicagoland area, but his heart is in Door County Wisconsin connectingnature and the Great Lakes. For most of his professional life, he has focused on the interconnection of sustainability and the built environment. With an education and professional background in architecture and engineering, Charlie believes all aspects of building design, construction, operations, and lifecycle are interconnected to promote a more sustainable and resilient future.
For more than two decades, he has worked closely with non-profit and for-profit organizations, developers, owners, architects, engineers, and project managers on hundreds of commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects across the U.S. With his background and expertise, Charlie is always looking for creative ways to answer the question, “What shouldsustainability mean for this building?”
Charlie has supported numerous project teams in achieving their sustainability goals and Green Globes certification. He truly believes the GBI Green Globes Assessment and Certification program provides teams with the framework and verification process to guide their efforts. As a Green Globes Fellow, Guiding Principles Compliance Fellow and Green Globes Professional, Charlie’s experience and expertise inspired him to become a Green Globes Assessor, someone who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to every project.
