Weijun Allen Mei

P.E., C.E.M., BEMP, GGA, GGP, ICC Certified Commercial Energy Plans Examiner, LEED AP

Allen grew up in the countryside, where his fascination with buildings began by crafting structures from bricks, sticks, and dirt. That early curiosity led him to study HVAC systems and later, building performance simulations. After earning his Master of Engineering from Purdue University, he began his career as a building performance analyst.

He has since worked closely with developers, owners, architects, MEP engineers, and project managers on hundreds of large-scale commercial and industrial projects across the U.S., developing detailed simulation models to analyze design performance, operations, and code compliance. Allen serves on the board of IBPSA-USA and contributes to various ASHRAE and ICC committees. He recently founded Clearbrook Energy Solutions to bring scalable and cost-effective building analytics to more project teams.

Over the years, Allen has contributed to GBI’s projects and was drawn to the company’s unique approach – its clarity, practical framework, and the critical role of an engaged expert assessor. That experience inspired him to become a Green Globes Assessor himself, bringing both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to every evaluation.
