1:25 PM Keeping PACE with rising Construction Costs

Angela will describe the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing program, which allows commercial property owners to upgrade existing buildings (and in certain states, build new buildings in excess of code) using long-term, low-interest, fixed-rate financing. There have been over 2,750 PACE projects nationwide, providing over $3 billion in financing for these projects.

The Holmes County School District received Federal funds for district-wide school improvements and reached out to Iris Energy Analytics for HVAC refinements. Iris then hired DRAW to create sustainability simulations showing the ROI of school facility performance improvements. We will walk you through DRAW's sustainability process and the three scenarios presented, culminating in Net Zero energy efficiency, water efficiency analysis, and additional building performance advancements.

According to a recent report by Deloitte, the total global EV sales are growing from 2.5 million in 2020 to 11.2 million in 2025, then reaching 31.1 million by 2030. This forecast presents a challenge for EV charging infrastructure since the deployment of charging ports must keep up with the growth in residential, commercial, and fleet applications. This panel discussion will address how communities, private businesses, and EV infrastructure companies are working to answer the call and make EV charging more accessible through widespread deployment of EV charging station. 3:45 PM Resilience, Ecology, and Access at the Water’s Edge

WEDG® (Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines) is the gold standard for resilient, ecologically-sound, and accessible projects that touch the water's edge. WEDG is a national rating system that has verified projects that include everything from industrial facilities in the Bronx to public park space in North Carolina. Waterfront design is complex for even the most seasoned design teams and becoming more so with the risk of coastal flooding due to sea level rise. With help from hundreds of experts in design, science, community development, engineering, and insurance, the Waterfront Alliance developed WEDG, a science-based voluntary rating system and set of guidelines to address these challenges at the project scale.
4:10 PM Leveraging Green Globes for Sustainable Interiors Projects

This session presents a case study on the completed VA Boston headquarters - a 53,000 square feet workplace project that achieved 4 Green Globes certification in 2021. The presenter will explain the genesis of this project, and how the team came to select Green Globes as a pathway for demonstration of sustainability outcomes desired by the client. Key emphasis will be given to illustrate how the team, which were all new to the Green Globes rating system, created a unique integrative design approach that met the client's rigorous design and construction guidelines, while conveying the desired strategies, discipline by discipline, to help the team overcome the learning gap on this fast-moving project - achieving the highest level of certification, on the same timeline and budget as was given to achieve 1 Green Globe certification. The presentation will show finished images of various different components of the design and will be supplemented by metrics on energy efficiency, water efficiency, and indoor environmental quality - to name a few. The processes illustrated in this presentation are simple, practical, and replicable, as they are ideal for workplace and interiors projects with rapid schedules, modest budgets, and/or which have not historically been well-served by leading third-party rating systems. Join this session learn about this exciting project, how these processes contributed to it being awarded "2022 Green Globes Project of the Year" by the GBI, and most importantly, how Green Globes can become a go-to tool to help bring measurable sustainability to your workplace/interiors projects!
