Colorado Mesa University Asteria Theatre
Grand Junction, Colorado
This state-of-the-art theater is the first performance venue to use geothermal energy, which is sourced from a campus-wide loop harnessing the earth’s energy for heating and cooling. The project earned a Three Green Globes rating for New Construction in December 2024.

Adaptive Reuse & Revitalization
The Adaptive Reuse & Revitalization award recognizes creativity, innovation, and awareness of community needs for a conversion project. Rather than starting from scratch, adaptive reuse and revitalization gives new life to entire communities using a sustainable approach while honoring a building’s past.

What projects are eligible?
Green Globes Projects of the Year must have achieved a Two, Three, or Four Green Globes rating under any Green Globes certification program, or be Recognized or Certified under Journey to Net Zero Energy and/or Carbon.
Eligible design, construction, and/or operation teams identify creative sustainability features that improve the building’s functionality, longevity, and value. They clearly demonstrate sustainability goals, integrate innovative technologies and practices, remove barriers, and effectively communicate features and practices to encourage tenant participation.
