The Green Globes building rating system is unique in the marketplace. Earning the Green Globes Professional credential gives you a clear understanding of the Green Globes assessment process and certification features. This training is intended to develop experienced sustainability professionals into expert users of the Green Globes building assessment and rating system. The Green Globes Professional training covers all of the Green Globes modules and protocols, including New Construction (NC), Existing Buildings (EB), Sustainable Interiors (SI), and Core & Shell (CS).


The training is entirely web-based and self-paced for a convenient and efficient learning environment.

  • The importance of sustainable design and construction
  • Background, flexibility features and Green Globes assessment process
  • Key concepts, organization of Green Globes criteria and point allocations
  • Elements of the newly released Green Globes v3 software


  • Located within the course platform
  • 100 multiple-choice, true/false and fill-in-the-blank questions
  • Open-book using the Green Globes Professional Training Manual
  • An 80% passing grade is required for credentialing


The Green Globes Professional training course has been approved by;

  • The American Institute of Architects (AIA) for 8 LU | HSW
  • The International Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) for 8 CEU hours
  • The Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) for 8 CEU hours



The GGP credential is valid for two years, at which point payment of biennial renewal dues is required to maintain the credential.


Applicants need 5+ years of industry experience directly pertaining to commercial buildings in at least one of the following areas:

  • Architecture/Design
  • Facilities/Operations Management/Maintenance
  • Engineering Management
  • Construction Management
  • Building Materials/Components/Systems Manufacturing
  • Inspections/Auditing/Appraisals
  • Facility Planning
  • Energy Analysis
  • Commissioning
  • Sustainability/Environment management

Alternatively, you can qualify with only 3 years of experience if you hold at least an Associate's Degree in a related field.
