Tehmina Husain has over 18 years of professional experience in the Building Design and Construction Industry. She has several years of experience teaching as an undergraduate faculty at the Interior Design program and then as a Sustainability trainer/coach. She educates professionals on the importance of building green by conducting training workshops and speaking in conferences/seminars.
With a background in Architecture and a passion for a sustainable future her focus shifted from the design side to guiding the design teams on sustainability during the design and construction phases of development. To lower the impact of construction on the environment, she works with project teams through the process of green building certification including Green Globes, Guiding Principles Compliance, and LEED; educating and empowering leaders to make informed decisions.
At Merrick, Tehmina Husain is part of the sustainability team with the High-Performance Facility group with a focus on providing guidance on projects seeking a green building third-party certification/verification for Federal clients including Department of Defense and VA facilities.
