Roxanne Tate, MASc., P.Eng., CEM, is a Professional Engineer, entrepreneur, and the Founder and President of Tate Engineering Inc. With more than 20 years of experience spanning research, manufacturing, energy consulting, and project and construction management, Roxanne is known for her steady leadership, technical depth, and people-first approach.

Roxanne holds a Master of Applied Science from Dalhousie University, where her research focused on biodiesel fuels. Over the course of her career, she has developed deep expertise in energy auditing, benchmarking, modelling, and high-performance building and net-zero energy approaches. Through Tate Engineering, she works alongside clients across sectors to support energy-efficient design, reduce operational demand, and guide projects from early concept through construction and occupancy.

Beyond her work with clients, Roxanne is an active contributor to the engineering community. She has served as a Councillor with Engineers Nova Scotia, a Board Member with Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia, and participates in leadership and mentorship initiatives through the Centre for Women in Business. She is particularly passionate about supporting women in engineering, entrepreneurship, and STEM through mentorship, advocacy, and visibility.

Roxanne is guided by the belief that the built environment plays a powerful role in shaping how communities grow, connect, and thrive. Her leadership is purpose-driven and grounded in solving real-world problems with integrity, clarity, and care. Having grown up in poverty, her journey has shaped a deep appreciation for resilience, community, and opportunity — values that continue to influence how she leads and how Tate Engineering shows up for its clients and communities.

Outside of work, Roxanne enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and finds balance through hiking, yoga, gardening, and time in nature.
