Roxanne is an accomplished professional with experience that spans the academic, industrial, institutional, and commercial sectors. An accomplished Professional Engineer and Entrepreneur, Roxanne also holds a Master of Applied Science from Dalhousie University for her work with Biodiesel fuels. Environmental sustainability has been in the forefront since she became an Earthkeeper in elementary school. A career in Engineering seemed a natural fit to develop the skills and tools to help solve one of the world’s biggest problems – climate change. With a focus on reducing demand, Roxanne has developed skills in energy benchmarking, energy auditing, energy modelling, and energy efficient design. In 2012, Roxanne decided to forge her own path and opened a consultancy in efforts to amplify her impact. Her vision is for Tate Engineering Inc. to be leaders in the development and operation of net zero energy buildings through knowledge sharing, building partnerships and challenging the status quo. Roxanne is driven by her desire to protect the environment for future generations, specifically her three children. Beyond the office Roxanne is seen as a leader among her peers and within her community taking on different leading and supporting roles. She has been active in her profession as a Councillor for Engineer Nova Scotia and a Board Member of Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia. In her downtime, she enjoys activities like camping and kayaking with her family.
