Eileen R. Pesantes

PE, PhD, GGA

Eileen was born and raised in Puerto Rico, a small archipelago with beautiful beaches and diverse natural landscapes, from the tropical rainforest in the northeast to the tropical dry forest in the west.

Growing up near the ocean, Eileen learned firsthand of its tranquil charm on sunny days and its formidable power during hurricanes. She also gained an appreciation for the remarkable diversity of natural beauty that thrives in such a seemingly compact place.

Inspired by her parents, Eileen pursued a career in civil engineering, drawn to the challenges and rewards of construction. Her early projects involved historic preservation and restoration, where she witnessed the harmonious blend of old and new. She also tackled renovations and retrofitting, demonstrating how existing structures could be repurposed without sacrificing functionality or beauty.

For over two decades, Eileen has imparted her knowledge to students in civil engineering and construction management, covering topics from sustainability to construction law. Her expertise extends beyond construction to structural engineering, enriching her teaching and practical skills.

Driven by her passion for sustainable design and construction, Eileen seized the opportunity to become a certified Green Globes Assessor. She sees this role as an opportunity to leverage her expertise to support clients in achieving successful projects. “By listening to clients and understanding their goals, I hope to be part of their success acquiring Green Globes certification.”
