Cyril Fauche
Cyril’s passion for sustainable architecture was ignited during his academic journey, particularly during a transformative year-long exchange at Laval University. This experience cemented his belief that true sustainability in architecture must embrace both cutting-edge technology and vernacular wisdom.
Recognizing vernacular architecture as an invaluable resource for contemporary sustainable design, Cyril applied this philosophy in his ambitious graduation project. The project focused on integrating urban agriculture into Phnom Penh’s cityscape while demonstrating sustainable development through passive energy management inspired by reinterpreted vernacular architecture.
In 2007, Cyril earned his Master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris. Licensed in France, he later obtained his Certificate of Practice and License in Ontario after relocating to Canada in 2017.
Since 2005, Cyril has honed his skills as an architectural designer and project lead across diverse cultural contexts, working in design studios in Toronto, Tokyo, and Paris, as well as with design-build companies in the Greater Toronto Area. This varied experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable design practices across different climates and cultures.
Cyril’s portfolio showcases a wide array of projects, consistently prioritizing eco-friendly design principles. From energy-efficient residential developments to green commercial spaces and sustainable urban planning initiatives, he excels at incorporating biophilic design elements, maximizing natural light and ventilation, and utilizing locally-sourced, sustainable materials.
In every project, Cyril remains committed to delivering high-quality, environmentally responsible designs that exceed client expectations. His work demonstrates that sustainability and aesthetic appeal can coexist, creating spaces that are both beautiful and environmentally conscious.
