Organizational Members and individual donors support GBI’s multifaceted approach to green buildings. Their contributions fund advocacy to promote a sustainable built environment – in small towns to a global level and everywhere in between. GBI and its members support achievement of sustainability and decarbonization goals, comprehensive standards development efforts that promote transparency, consensus, due process, inclusivity, equity, and inclusion, and investment in future leaders through advancement of assessment, education and credentialing programs.

These introductory level memberships are available to individuals or organizations of all industries, interested in demonstrating their commitment to GBI and advancing sustainability and decarbonization in the built environment. Benefits at these levels provide green building practitioners with benefits such as Project Registration discounts, complimentary professional certifications and renewals, demo access to Green Globes questionnaires and Guiding Principles Compliance surveys (Principal level and above), discounts to GBI hosted events, and a listing in the GBI member directory.

GBI offers intermediate level memberships to organizations of all industries interested in elevating their commitment to GBI and sustainability and decarbonization in the built environment through participation in GBI’s Building Industry Advisory Council (BIAC). The BIAC consists of a community of likeminded organizations, interested in advancing sustainability with GBI’s array of green building assessments and resources. In addition to the above benefits, Stewardship and Visionary members are eligible for member spotlights in our monthly Community Update, roles on GBI Board Committees, consultation with GBI’s staff on GBI ANSI Standard developments and Green Globes building registration and building type trends, and the ability to shape GBI’s technical education programs.

GBI’s top membership levels allow organizations of all industries to demonstrate leadership and excellence in the green building industry. These GBI partner organizations are at the forefront of their industries and seek to provide education and leadership to other organizations. Membership dues support GBI’s growth and mission – to move the needle towards a more sustainable an decarbonize built environment. In addition to the forementioned benefits, Sustaining & Premier members are offered custom promotional opportunities, such as co-branded education or product spotlights in GBI communication vehicles, introduction and panelist opportunities at GBI hosted events, and twice annual briefings from GBI President on program areas of your choice and prominent recognition on signage and GBI reports.
