Volunteer Opportunities
Green Globes Emerging Professional Mentor
The Green Globes Emerging Professional (GGEP) program is designed for students and professionals early in their career who are interested in expanding their knowledge of sustainable building and design. Benefits of the program include pairing with a GGEP mentor. Mentoring serves as an opportunity for students and early professionals to create meaningful industry connections, supporting GGEPs through career education. Mentors are responsible for following suggested guidelines for scheduling up to four 30 minute meetings with the assigned GGEP mentee and are required to be credentialed Green Globes Professionals. Mentor assignments are based on availability at the time of the mentee request.
Working Group Member for New Construction and/or Existing Buildings Standards
GBI is continually seeking subject matter experts to review proposals for changes to the New Construction and Existing Buildings Standards (currently under Continuous Maintenance). The standards development process has busy and slow periods, but volunteers can expect 2-4 two-hour meetings each year for each working group they sit on. All meetings are currently held virtually via GoToWebinar. Membership usually lasts two years. For more information visit GBI’s Standards page here.
