Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Mentor

Support the Next Generation of Green Building Professionals

The Green Globes Emerging Professional (GGEP) program connects students and early-career professionals with experienced Green Globes Professionals (GGPs) for mentorship focused on sustainable building and design.

As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your expertise, foster meaningful industry connections, and support the development of future leaders in the green building community. Mentors are asked to follow suggested guidelines and commit to up to four 30-minute meetings with their assigned mentee.

To serve as a mentor, you must hold an active Green Globes Professional (GGP) credential. Mentor-mentee matches are based on availability at the time of request.

Join a Working Group for GBI’s Green Buildings Standards

Are you a subject matter expert passionate about advancing sustainable design and operations?

Contribute your expertise to GBI’s Working Groups for the New Construction and Existing Buildings Standards—both currently under Continuous Maintenance.

As a Working Group member, you’ll play a key role in reviewing and shaping proposed changes to GBI’s green building standards. While the pace of work varies, volunteers typically participate in 1–3 virtual meetings per year (2 hours each) for every group they join. Membership terms are generally two years.

All meetings are held remotely via GoToWebinar, making it easy to stay engaged from anywhere.

Help influence the future of green building—join a GBI Working Group. Learn more on our Standards page.
