With over 20 years of experience, Laurie began her career as a Construction Superintendent for Habitat Wake County. She worked as a part of a team on the entire home construction process, coordinated hiring and administration of AmericCorps members, taught construction skills and techniques to unskilled volunteers, and led over 100 volunteers weekly to complete tasks in all phases of construction
In 2008, Laurie started the Multifamily and Commercial Services team at SEM by advising both affordable housing and market projects on their energy efficienct and green building practices, while growing a team that has consistently been recognized as a partner of the year by both the ENERGY STAR and NGBS programs. Laurie spends most of her time advising SEM’s clients on finding the green building program that is the right fit for a project’s objectives.
