Laura Unrein has over 15 years of experience in the building industry including 10 years at Group14 Engineering where she currently works as a sustainability project manager. Laura has her bachelor’s in environmental science from Indiana University and her master’s in construction management from Colorado State University making her a valuable resource for design & construction teams seeking to make their projects more environmentally conscious.
Laura provides technical design support to architects, contractors, and owners seeking certification under a green building rating system including experience with Green Globes, LEED, the WELL Building Standard, and CHPS. Laura is a LEED accredited professional, a WELL accredited professional, and a Green Globes Professional to ensure she provides comprehensive guidance on best practices to her clients. In her time spent at Group14 to date, she has overseen the certification of projects totaling over 10 million square feet in Colorado across multiple sectors including in higher education, K-12, multifamily, civic, commercial, hospitality and aviation.
Her passion for how buildings impact our wellbeing led her to participate in the ULI healthy leaders network where she serves to enhance the health and wellbeing for all building occupants across various sectors. She actively participates in technical advisory positions for Green Building Certification programs and looks forward to being an integral part of the Green Building Initiatives’ mission of reducing climate impacts by improving the built environment.
