Susan E. Collins has over 30 years’ experience in strategic planning, marketing, business development and sustainability consulting. As Chief Operating Officer for Whole Building Systems, a high performance building consultancy based in Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Collins is responsible for business development and management; Green Globes sustainability consulting; and writing design requirements and specifications. Prior to joining Whole Building Systems, Ms. Collins served as Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for DIRECTV in Los Angeles, CA, where she helped launch the DIRECTV satellite service in the US. She also served as Vice President for Virgin Mobile USA, Sir Richard Branson’s youth oriented cell phone service. She holds a BA in Journalism from Rutgers University, an associates of applied science in the Building Arts from the American College of the Building Arts, and a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Savannah College of Art and Design.
